Angela Yadav, Vancity’s first Chief Legal Officer, has helped position Legal and Corporate Affairs as a strategic enterprise function that supports business priorities, operational decision-making, and Vancity’s social purpose commitments.
Since joining Vancity, Angela has modernized the Legal Affairs team, strengthening its role as an early, solutions-focused partner to the business. In 2025, she led Vancity’s first merger in nearly two decades with First Credit Union, guiding a complex, highly regulated transaction through strong cross-functional collaboration. She also leads Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management, including the development of Vancity’s first branch on First Nations land, an important step in bringing Vancity’s Reconciliation commitments to life.
Angela also established a new Strategic Procurement function, embedding innovation and stronger risk management. She refreshed Vancity’s Sustainable Procurement Principles, embedding diversity, sustainability, and Indigenous engagement into supplier evaluation while reducing barriers for smaller and underrepresented vendors.
As the new Chief Complaints Officer, Angela is responsible for establishing an enterprise-wide complaints framework to strengthen oversight, consistency, and regulatory alignment across Vancity.
A strong advocate for equity and inclusion, Angela is recognized for her leadership, mentorship, and community impact. Her work reflects the important role leaders can play in helping organizations grow responsibly, operate with integrity, and turn values into action.
